A number of the inventions
created by Mr. Hill and his colleagues have sparked commercial interest.
These companies were formed to develop, manufacture and market solutions
based on systems for power line carrier communications and pattern
recognition.
dbi
Corporation
dbi acquires and licenses innovative solutions in the area of power
line carrier and wireless data transmission.
InvisiTech
InvisiTech develops solutions based on the concept of Loosely Coupled
Sets (LCS). Invented by Dick Morley and Larry Hill, LCS is a novel
approach to pattern recognition and identification with many commercial
applications.
dbi
Corporation
dbi Corporation was formed
in 1995 to acquire and exploit a group of patents and related intellectual
property in the area of power line carrier and wireless data transmission.
dbi has executed several license agreements and works with clients
to adapt the technology to their specific needs.
Products
Powerplex
power line carrier modems
DSP
modem cores for system-on-chip implementation designed for communication
over power lines and other unconventional media
dbi also provides repair
and replacement of Cyplex wireless modems, antennas, and head-end
products for the automated guided vehicle industry.

Principals
Larry
Hill, President
Dr. F. Williams Sarles,
Principal Engineer
Dr. Sarles began his career at Lincoln Laboratory, working on space-borne
electronics and antenna design. He has been a consultant for the
past twenty years, specializing in power electronics, magnetics,
and precision analog circuitry. He is also active in custom ASIC
design and in standards activities related to local area networks.
He holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Physics from
MIT. Email Dr. Sarles.

InvisiTech
InvisiTech Corporation
was formed in 1998 to advance the concept of Loosely Coupled Sets
(LCS) which was invented by Dick Morley
and Larry Hill. LCS is a novel approach to the identification of
people, things and trends through pattern recognition. Jointly owned
by Dick Morley, Larry Hill and Amanda Lapierre, InvisiTech's goal
is to create economic value through strategic partnerships and licensing
arrangements with corporate partners who can benefit from LCS technology
and concepts. InvisiTech has prepared and filed a series of patent
applications in the United States and throughout the world.
Solutions
InvisiTech offers a demonstration program for personal recognition,
illustrating the concept of LCS at a simple and conceptual level.
To provide experimental proof of the power of LCS, the company has
applied the technique to signature recognition. We are currently
in discussions with prospective partners in a variety of fields,
from retail to manufacturing.
Selected commercial
applications:
Signature
verification, dramatically reducing forgeries in retail
Retail
traffic analysis, tracking customers' time and path through
stores
Intelligent
toys, including a doll that can recognize people and patterns
Minesweeping,
recognizing subtle underwater images
Investment
strategy, offering tactical asset allocation and screening of
securities for investment according to predetermined criteria
Manufacturing
quality control, providing early detection of the trends and
factors that affect quality
InvisiTech plans to establish
the commercial value of LCS by developing applications on a project-contract
basis. The company will leverage these successes to implement technology
licenses with clients where appropriate.
